Southwest Business Improvement District
We are thrilled to be partnering with the Southwest (DC) Business Improvement District (SWBID) to support a local community engagement effort. Given the rapidly changing landscape of the Southwest neighborhood that is prompting shifts in quality of life for many, we will be gathering stories from residents to learn about how folks experience belonging, agency, and identity in the midst of community change. By using SenseMaker to collect and interpret stories that provide a more detailed look into the lived experiences of others, we hope to generate useful data for the SWBID and other local organizations, facilitate meaningful neighborhood dialogue around challenging issues, cultivate social capital through connection and understanding, and learn how this type of process could be used in other local contexts.
